Artist Statement
I believe that art should be more than a pretty painting. It should reflect something meaningful and should cause us to respond, either by reliving a memory, by laughing or simply by thinking. I believe a painting should be simple and straight forward in a way that invites you to participate. I often paint an analogy and I try to tell a story by using composition, color, shapes, edges and brushwork. The titles of my paintings will often hint at the story behind it. Painting is my way of sharing with you, what’s important to me.
