I have been an artist as far back as I can remember. Growing up I drew on everything – my books, the walls and doors, the shelf lining paper my mom put in the cupboards and regular old paper. Later I studied art at Oregon State University. My love of all animals and art weave together naturally to give me direction and enjoyment in my work. www.Lorrainebushek.com
[email protected] I love painting. It is like mediating to me. I live on the Sandy River, which provides endless inspiration, from pools in the back yard to panoramic vistas of Mt Hood. Recently, my mind's eye has been shaped by the movement and play of light on water, and textures on trees and rocks, which are everywhere around me. Not until I began to paint did I actually began to see, or perhaps to "notice". Color, texture and light began to pop as I took time to be present with my surroundings. Some of my paintings are also inspired by my travels, including some figu- rative work. My style is photorealistic, but recently, my longstanding love of luscious brush strokes and lost edges has called me to experiment with a more im- pressionistic approach. It is difficult for me to remain loose and not "fix everything! It is a fun challenge to create natural looking textures using layers of paint and other techniques. www.pamelasmithsted.com
